Among Giants

It was our first trip to California and we decided to start big, actually...gigantic. It had been in our bucket list forever to see the sequoias of California, so we packed our bags and headed there for Labor Day weekend.

We flew to Fresno and decided to make it our base to visit two incredible National Parks: Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Park. Walking among the giants on Mariposa Grove in Yosemite National Park is one of those experiences I will treasure forever. Imagine yourself in Pandorum (Avatar) and you can understand the sensation of walking among these gigantic trees. There was a wild fire during our visit, and even though the smell and air quality were not the greatest, our pictures came out like paintings on a canvas (you won't see me complaining about that).

While the scenery around Fresno is five-star, we found that in the city itself, there is a five-star dining experience as well: Cracked Pepper Bistro. Please, if you find yourself going to Fresno, do your palate a huge favor and eat here. If you are anything like me, you will be raving about their food for a while.
